Geauga County Dog Warden Matt Granito (continued)
Read the beginning
The clinics don't cost the county anything since the
modest PetFix fees are passed through to the clients. In fact, according
to Matt, the clinics will actually save the county money in the long
run by reducing the number of dogs needing services and controlling
the cat population so it can be managed without costly government
programs.
Species boundaries aren't the only ones Matt crosses. Clients at
his last clinic included three dogs brought in by a rescuer from
Trumbull County and three more from the South Euclid Humane Society
in Cuyahoga County. According to Matt, "cooperation is the key
for the welfare of the animals. Once you close the door to other
groups, you close the door for those animals. We need to support
one another."
We salute PetFix Hero Matt Granito and his team for embodying the
spirit of regional cooperation envisioned by the PetFix founders.
